Smart Sock warns if Baby not Breathing
Brigham Young University undergraduates, Jacob Colvin and his team, have developed a baby monitor, the Owlet Baby Monitor, worn like a sock on the baby’s foot, the device monitors the heart rate and blood-oxygen levels.
The monitor will send an alert to the parent’s smartphone through an app, if the baby stops breathing or heart rate changes,
The device hopes to reduce death from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and warn a parent of dangerous situations.
Colvin and his team created their device for the Student Innovator of the Year competition, which they won.
